A schooboy will appear in court today charged with the attempted murder of a “soft-hearted” supply teacher.
The 14-year-old boy is accused of plunging a kitchen knife into the stomach of Mr Vincent Uzomah during the first lesson of the day. He has also been charged with possessing cannabis.
It has emerged the horrific attack on the 50-year-old married dad, “who never shouted,” was witnessed by seven terrified pupils who are now receiving counselling.
The teacher had been working at Dixons Kings Academy for four weeks and was already popular with pupils when he was wounded.
He was stabbed just before 9am on Thursday after a dispute about a mobile phone with one of the pupils.
He stumbled clutching his stomach trying to stem the blood from the “deeply nasty wound”.
