Biker jailed for Exeter gravestone sex attack on girl

A biker has been jailed for forcing a girl to take part in a humiliating sexual act on a gravestone.

Roger Gaywood pushed the girl face down onto the tomb in St David’s Church yard in Exeter after getting her high on cannabis.

He had been in an on-off relationship with the girl, who he has previously sexually assaulted in another Exeter graveyard at the Catacombs off Bartholomew Street.

Gaywood, now aged 52, was ten years older than the girl and took advantage of her vulnerability and heavy use of cannabis during the abuse, which took place in the 1990s.

The assault on the tombstone took place as he was walking her home from a biker’s cafe called Harley’s in the centre of Exeter and suggested they stop off at St David’s for a joint.
