COPS were last night questioning key Kinahan cartel lieutenant Barry Finnegan after they seized a stash of super-strength cannabis oil.
The convicted sex offender and armed robber, 36, was driving with another man when uniformed officers stopped them after their car was spotted acting suspiciously near Ratoath, Co Meath.
During a search of the vehicle, gardai found bottles of the highly potent cannabis.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.
Finnegan was jailed for seven months just two weeks ago — for failing to comply with the terms of the Sex Offenders Act — but is out on bail after he appealed the sentence.
The thug, caged for five years in 2007 for violating a 14-year-old girl, had moved addresses without notifying gardai.
