Cannabis lube is now a thing, but a top gynaecologist thinks people should be cautious

There’s been a lot of debate recently over the medical use of marijuana. Several products now include an extract from the plant as an ingredient to reduce pain or relieve anxiety, but the latest remedy to hit shelves in the US – a cannabis lube that promises to enhance users’ sex lives – might be a step too far.

In theory, the lube aims to help people who suffer from conditions that cause them to experience pain during sex, such as vaginismus – where a woman’s vaginal muscles tense up involuntarily – or vulvodynia – a chronic pain or discomfort experienced in the vulva.
