Springfield man facing sexual abuse, trafficking charges – The State Journal

A Springfield man has been indicted on multiple charges of sexual abuse and trafficking after police say he forced an underage girl to engage in prostitution and produced child pornography.

Police said Eric O. McClain, age 30, of the 1200 block of South 12th Street in Springfield faces six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, six counts of child pornography, three counts of trafficking in persons, two counts of promoting juvenile prostitution, involuntary servitude of a minor, and involuntary sexual servitude of a minor.

Bond was set at $500,000.

Police said that McClain was initially arrested on April 19 after being found with a girl who was underage at a hotel in Springfield. He attempted to escape from police custody and had an outstanding arrest warrant for obstructing justice, police said.
