Locked up in May: Paedophiles, stalkers and an arsonist gambler are among 24 behind bars

Sex attackers, a cannabis farmer, paedophiles and a gambler who set fire to his own flat were all locked up last month.

Here’s a list of criminals dealt with in May.

1) Joshua Probert blackmailed 26 women and young girls – including one from Teesside – into performing degrading sex acts via the internet for his sick pleasure.

He had become addicted to pornography when he started using devious tactics to get victims to send him intimate photographs of themselves – before resorting to “sextortion”.

One of his victims was a 13-year-old girl from Middlesbrough .

Probert, 22, of Portland Avenue, Grimsby, had pleaded guilty to 66 offences involving blackmail, making indecent images and causing victims to engage in sexual activity, between January 2014 and November last year, at Liverpool Crown Court where he was jailed for 12 years.
