Sex doll ‘brothel’ sparks opposition in North York

They’re technically sex workers, but not real.

At least, not in the flesh.

A sex doll brothel — scheduled to open next month in a Yonge St-Sheppard Ave. area plaza — is already generating controversy.

Councillor John Filion alleged it’s an illegal venture, contending the establishment needs an adult entertainment parlour licence from the city and that it would not be permitted to operate in the planned location which is only zoned for commercial use.

“If this kind of thing should be anywhere, and I’m not sure it should, it’s not at the intersection of Yonge and Sheppard with tens of thousands of people living in the area, steps to several elementary schools,” insisted the Willowdale (Ward 23) councillor.
