This much seems clear: A female Spruce Creek High School staff member had sex at her home with at least one and possibly as many as four members of the school’s football team on the last day of school in May.
From there, the accounts significantly diverge depending on who is telling them.
Two days after the incident, the school staff member told New Smyrna Beach police that she had been drugged and sexually assaulted, according to a police report and Police Chief Mike Coffin. An investigation is ongoing.
But two of four football players apparently involved told The News-Journal all four players had consensual sex with the staff member, who is in her early 20s, in her New Smyrna Beach home on May 30. They also said the woman urged the players to have sex with her.
