Murder accused was ‘skint’ before splashing cash and having sex in top hotel after killing

A drug dealer accused of murder had money problems before having sex in a top hotel and splashing cash after the killing, a court heard today (January 7).

Ashley White, 20, of West End, Brampton, and Jordan Shepherd, 23, of Mayfly Close, Chatteris, are on trial for the killing of Sam Mechelewski, whose body was found in Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon, on February 1, 2018.

Earlier in the trial, the court heard that each defendant claimed the other was responsible for the killing – but prosecutor Richard Christie claims both defendants “planned” the murder together.
