Undercover police sting snared ‘predatory’ man trying to incite schoolgirl into sexual activity

Undercover police snared a “predatory” man by setting up a fake online profile and pretending to be a schoolgirl.

Daniel Morley was on dating and social networking website Badoo when he made contact with a ‘girl’ called Yasmin.

Despite being told she was only 14, Morley, who has “engaged in service for his country in a reserve capacity”, went on to ask for naked pictures and suggested a meeting.

Prosecutors said the 26-year-old had “demonstrated predatory behaviour towards someone he thought was a child”.

Police went to his place of work to arrest him and Morley, who has mental health difficulties, admitted attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Judge Tim Gittins, at Newcastle Crown Court, told him: “What you did was extremely serious.
