A former Child Youth and Family caregiver has denied historical sexual offending against 17 boys.
The man, aged in his 50s, worked for Oranga Tamariki’s predecessor in Auckland and faces 43 charges.
Stuff understands the offending happened inside a Child Youth and Family facility.
The man entered not guilty pleas to all charges through his lawyer at the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday.
A court order suppressing his name was also continued by Justice Timothy Brewer.
However, the Judge set down a hearing in May for suppression to be addressed.
The Crown and Stuff are opposing name suppression and Justice Brewer ruled Stuff should be given access to the defence’s application.
