OPINION: Facebook, what is it good for? Not much, judging by the Paris summit on social media.
Closer to home – on my wife’s feed, to be exact, as I don’t have an account myself – a use was discovered last week. As if we had forgotten, Facebook told us that it was exactly a year since we ventured to the west coast of the United States.
A plethora of photographs bore witness to San Francisco adventures: Chinatown, Pier 39, Lombard St, the Castro and the Golden Gate bridge. The filthy rich, the abjectly poor, the homeless and the drug addicts. A man lying on the ground, mainlining heroin as an indifferent world walked by.
