Geoffrey Edelsten to appear in court on crutches to fight petty driving offence

Former bankrupt, millionaire, medical entrepreneur and disgraced hitman-hiring doctor Geoffrey Edelsten will spend his 76th birthday limping around court. 

Edelsten, who in 1985 became the first private owner of an AFL football team – the Sydney Swans – will hobble into the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday to contest a $3600 fine. 

Coincidentally, his ex-wife Brynne Gordon was seen leaving the same court on Wednesday where her ex-husband is scheduled to appear.
