Married news anchor’s death deemed meth overdose after Grindr hookup gone wrong

Here’s a public service announcement that tragically comes too late for one well-respected news anchor: Meth does not belong in a human body, and certainly not inserted anally.

Longtime KTLA personality Chris Burrous’ cause of death has been officially attributed to methamphetamine toxicity, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Meth use among men who have sex with men has seen a resurgence in recent years, and it’s something we need to talk about in the open. It’s easy to villainize users, to blame people for their problems, but something continues to lead men towards the unbelievably harmful substance that must be addressed.

Burrous, 43, was found unconscious in a motel room in Glendale, California on December 27, and died after being transported to the hospital.
