Two former police officers who were accused of raping a handcuffed teen in the back of their van were spared jail at a “secret” hearing.
Eddie Martins, 39, and Richard Hall, 34, took turns having sex with the young woman, a court heard, and will be sentenced to five years’ probation.
The pair were accused of raping the then-18-year-old, known by her alias Anna Chambers, after arresting her for drug possession in Brooklyn, New York, in September 2017.
Rape and kidnapping charges were dropped in March and they avoided prison as part of a plea deal that sparked outrage and was slammed by Ms Chambers, who said afterwards: “F*** the justice system.”
The criminal case is nearing its end, but a civil case claiming Ms Chambers was raped is still before the courts.
