President Trump expressed support for a states’ rights
approach to cannabis policy. “We’re going to see
what’s going on. It’s a very big subject and right
now we are allowing states to make that decision,” the
President said. “A lot of states are making that
decision, but we’re allowing states to make that
decision.” The comments are consistent with the federal
approach of non-enforcement that began in the Obama
administration.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced it will process 33 long-delayed
applications to grow cannabis to be used in research.
